A volunteer mentor working one-to-one with a student

Our Online Mentoring Programme returns in October 2026. Young people from refugee, asylum-seeking and forced-migrant backgrounds are paired with a volunteer mentor for free weekly sessions, running from October through to March.

What mentoring covers

  • STEM, IT and English support tailored to each student
  • Homework and coursework help alongside longer-term skills
  • CVs, cover letters and university applications
  • Mock interviews, including for medical school and Oxbridge

Sessions are one-to-one or in small groups, and take place online.

Summer School 2026

Summer School 2026 at UCL has now finished — thank you to every student, volunteer and supporter who took part. Keep an eye out for Summer School 2027; dates and applications will be announced on our apply to our programme page.
